Hey! I'm going to nursing school, but I can't get federal financial aid for spring and summer quarter due to last year's income (which doesn't help with this year). I do have a small grant coming my way that will cover half of this quarter's schooling, but that still leaves $800 to pay.
Can you spare a dollar for a poor jobless girl who is eventually going to be able to put an IV in your arm?
(This feels ultra-weird to post, but I have been convinced by a few of my lovely friends that it is in fact not weird or gross, and that being helped by the people who love you when you're trying to better your life and community is the antithesis of weird. Please don't feel obligated, and if this post DOES make you feel weird or gross, please skip on by.)

Where I'm At
If I've removed you from my friends list, it's probably because we haven't spoken in quite some time, or primarily speak through other sites/in person/by phone. If you're looking to stay in touch, please add me on Facebook - link below - as I'm more likely to update there than here. However, if you would rather we re-connect on Livejournal, just comment and let me know!
I try to be less like an internet virus and more like a real person, but I'm still all over the web. Here are my stalkable links:Awakened Aesthetic
is ethics-based. We feature sustainable designers and stores, unmask bad business practices in big corporations (and celebrate ones that are doing it right) and post vintage and eco eye candy. awake_aestheticBroke & Beautiful
is all about self-expression on a tight budget. Fashion, jewelry, design, beauty...and anything else we can think of. brokebeautiful
discusses body image, self esteem and identity as they relate to the media. What is it saying? Should we listen? thedemoisellesTwitter

Hey! Hey you! Are you here because I just did a big friends list cut and you got removed? Are you worried it's personal, or that you're boring, or that I don't like you? Well let me tell you something: it's not that! I like you. Seriously. You're pretty fucking cool. But dude, you never update. Or you update sometimes, but we talk on Facebook. Or we weren't really super close (anymore? ever? please see the nature of our friendship) and I know we'll be friendly on Facebook and support each other's interests and all, but we don't really Livejournal with each other all that much.
So it's only personal in the sense that it makes MORE sense for us to stay connected via other websites, by phone or in person. How. Ev. Er. If you think I removed you by mistake, or you were JUST about to come back to Livejournal and write more often, or you have cake, comment and let me know.

"About belief or lack of belief in an afterlife: Some of you may know that I am neither Christian nor Jewish nor Buddhist, nor a conventionally religious person of any sort.
I am a humanist, which mean, in part, that I have tried to behave decently without any expectation of rewards or punishments after I'm dead. My German-American ancestors, the earliest of whom settled in our Middle West about the time of our Civil War, called themselves 'Freethinkers,' which is the same sort of thing. My great grandfather Clemens Vonnegut wrote, for example, 'If what Jesus said was good, what can it matter whether he was God or not?'
I myself have written, 'If it weren't for the message of mercy and pity in Jesus' Sermon on the Mount, I wouldn't want to be a human being. I would just as soon be a rattlesnake.'"
I've got ten minutes? Then I've got time to dial 911 and start trying to put the fire out.
A list of every single farmers market in the Seattle metropolitan area.
Including the islands.
And the east side.
And the north end.
And the south end. To Olympia.
There are 43 of them.
Okay, tired now.
Please tweet, stumble, digg, Facebook, something.
Because seriously, there wasn't a single TRULY comprehensive list to go off of...until now. And it kind of makes me feel like a badass.
SO WORTH IT! :D
